My family is very eclectic, filled with individuals who know what they love and buy what they want. Luckily they all live in different houses. For instance, I have a very modern sense of style. I love odd angles and bold colors, and I have this tendency to purchase things that other people would consider wastes of money, like impressionist sculptures and round couch pillows.
My sister, however, loves decorating in French design. Almost everything she owns is European in nature and exudes the colors of France. Plus, she has a constant stream of French music softly playing in the background. Talk about ambiance! It’s like stepping into a painting when you enter her home.
Finally, my parent’s house is filled with country charm. They love the quilted, teddy bear look. In fact, I think my mother was the first person to have those little geese with the blue neck ribbons in her bathroom. They love any furniture that is comfortable and covered in blankets and doilies, and neither of them has a taste for modern furniture. Sorry, IKEA, but you will not be visited by these simple folks.
